The Opportunity

This is an exciting new role and a great opportunity for a TechOps Support Engineer looking to develop their career in an international context.

You will be a key member of the TechOps team and work collaboratively across RONIN, and the Rippleffect Group, as we build velocity to enable our core services to deliver 24/7 services to our global clients. It is an exciting time to join us as we continue to establish global presence beyond our current locations in Hong Kong, USA, Europe (Germany and Portugal) and the UK.

Key duties of this role

  • Keep computer systems running smoothly and ensure users get the maximum benefit from them
  • Install and configure computer hardware operating systems and applications
  • Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks
  • Provide support in a face-to-face capacity, over the phone or via remote desktop software, helping staff or clients set up systems or resolve issues
  • Troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults
  • Replace parts as required
  • Follow diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system
  • Support the roll-out of new applications
  • Set up new users' accounts and profiles and deal with password issues
  • Respond within agreed time limits to call-outs
  • Work continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate)
  • Prioritise and manage many open cases at one time
  • Rapidly establish a good working relationship with customers and other professionals, such as software developers
  • Test and evaluate new technology
  • Conduct electrical safety checks on computer equipment

About you

  • A self-starter; happy working on your own initiative, being able to troubleshoot IT issues.
  • Excellent telephone manner, including listening and questioning skills, combined with the ability to interact confidently with clients to establish what the problem is and explain the solution
  • Patient and courteous.
  • Comfortable in an autonomous setting.
  • The ability to think logically

Essential Skills and Knowledge

  • Microsoft including Office 365, Windows desktop and server operating systems.
  • Basic networking skills and network security.
  • Troubleshooting and research skills.
  • Experience in technical, desktop support environment.

Knowledge and Experience - Nice to have

  • Confirmit or other CATI survey systems experience.
  • Cloud or other virtualisation experience.
  • ISO27001 implementation knowledge.
  • Linux experience.

Contractor fee

About the Tech Ops team

The Team is headed by the Head of Technical Operations and comprises a team of dedicated professionals and support engineers working across our London and Lancaster offices. We are actively looking to enhance our existing resource by recruiting support engineers who can join the team and provided dedicated support in additional time zones.

Location

This role will be based in our office in Porto, Portugal.

We are keen to support work/life balance and promote hybrid working. We encourage our team to spend at least three days in an office per week in accordance with business need.
